Bridal Fashion Week 2017: Our Favourite Wedding Gown Trends
Satin, Silk, Chantilly, Lace… What could Bridal Fashion Week possibly have in store for 2017? New York’s top designers in bridal unveiled their new collections at the Spring Bridal Fashion Week. In case you missed it - here are our favourite gowns trending for 2017!
3-D Florals:
We can’t get enough of these stunning gowns by Marchesa (Left + Right), with intricate flowers placed on the shoulders and throughout the rest of the gown — depicting elegance and sophistication. Christian Siriano (Middle), closed his show with a frothy ruffled-tulle ombre pink gown, making this colour a major trend for weddings next year.
Deep Plunge:
Plunging necklines, bare backs, drop shoulders and sheer materials are huge trends for 2017. Who ever said that brides couldn’t be sexy? These gowns by Reem Acra (Left), Naeem Khan (Middle) and Anne Barge (Right) are the perfect blend of sexy and sophisticated.
Capes, Capes, Capes:
No, capes aren’t just for superheroes - they are finally having their moment in the bridal world! From Marchesa’s boho-chic gown (Left), to Reem Acra’s sheer poncho (Middle) and Lela Rose’s adorable collard button-down top, we can’t help but love these capes trending for 2017!
Underwear as Bridal Wear:
This year’s 2017 bridal designers decided to play up corsetry by accenting bustier tops with illusion paneling, lace, embroidery, beading, etc. Pallas Couture’s gown (Left) features a fitted corset with a sheer skirt, creating a sexy yet elegant look. Vera Wang (middle) showcasing a modern take on this boudoir-like gown. Even the 90’s slip dress is making a come back! We love Oscar De La Renta’s corset layered with a sheer embroidered silhouette.
Shades of Pink:
For those daring brides that wish to steer away from the traditional white gown, Naeem Khan (Left) makes us fall in love with this blush gown with embroidered florals. Ines Di Santo (Middle) illustrates pure elegance in this sheer pink gown, while, Houghton’s (right) laid-back faint-pink frock is perfect for a garden wedding!
We hope you enjoyed our take on the 2017 Bridal Trends!
